Vessels are made of various types of clay bodies (different kinds of clay having different characteristics). Heated at least twice (can require 4 firings) to a final temperature of roughly 2,200 degrees to melt the glaze chosen, ensuring food safe and dishwasher friendly pieces.
Plates are not only for culinary pleasure but a blank canvas for expression. From wee tea bag size to dinner plates, all fit into standard cupboards and almost all are stack-able.
The maker must follow through on the vision. Here is my cephlopod inspired spoon holder, it lives in my own kitchen and I love it! Its wonderful and freeing to fill your space with your own form of joy.
I keep a family of mug designs which are continuously evolving! All glazes in my studio are food safe and all suppliers are Canadian. I put almost everything in the dishwasher without concern.
